Event Coverage: Hagley Classic Car Show

,

And now for the most epic car at Hagley.  I believe at one point this was some sort of Chevy…but in drooling over all the details of this car I *might* have forgotten to snap the window sticker…
Yeah…that’s a rear mounted engine too.  The doors actually work, but really who needs them when the entire body lifts up like a Funny car?  Check the interior door handles…old wrenches!
That's one hell of an engine.  It looks to be a big block with a pair of monster turbos, breathing through a carbeurator.  Astute readers may notice the key up on the roof.  It is attached to a motor so it can spin like an old toy car.
Since the engine sits on top of the rear axle, drive actually goes forward to this belt system the points power in the right direction (and the right rotation apparently).  Between those tires and that engine the belt must take quite a beating.
A hand grenade tops the ratchet style shifter inside.  And look, air conditioning!  I guess it really is a street car after all.

Hagley never ceases to bring out some of the neatest cars in the Delaware Valley.  With an eclectic mix of old classics, muscle cars, British roadsters, quirky Italians, and even the odd Japanese import, the Hagley Classic Car Show never ceases to amaze.  Stop by in 2015 and see all of what the show has to offer!
