The intercooler is a front mount tube and fin type. Generally we like tube and fin heat exchangers as they are more efficient when the car is moving and are much lighter. They also lets air penetrate the core better to reach the radiator.
In this shot you can see the internal turbulators that help transfer heat to the outside of the tube. Some fake copycat intercoolers are missing these and they make a huge difference in how well the intercooler works. Generally Japanese tube and fin heat exchangers work very well.
This tube is for containing the mass airflow meter sensing element. It's dimensions are critical for the engine to sample the airflow correctly. Get it wrong and the Air Fuel Ratio can be off, the ignition timing can be off and you can get check engine lights.
An HKS Powerflow air filter is included in the kit. The Powerflow like its name suggests flows well with little restriction. It is also washable and reusable.
This bracket mounts the supercharger. It is important that this bracket be stiff and strong to prevent belt toss and noise.
This is the compressor bypass valve. When the engine is at part throttle the valve is open to bypass excessive air that the supercharger is pumping around the throttle. This helps reduce parasitic power loss during cruising. One thing cool about the HKS supercharger's traction drive is that it allows some slip under these conditions which reduces some of the need to bypass large volumes of air.
