The bumper also has APR’s unique brake ducting, which draws air through the carbon fiber inlets in the bumper and feeds it to the center of the rotor. The air is then expelled through the vanes of the rotors as they turn, expelling heat with it. In many other brake duct applications, the air is drawn in and focused to a fixed spot on the inside faces of the rotors, rather than the centers like this kit does.
Aki at Blacktrax also created custom rear brake ducts. Aluminum inlets take air from under the car and duct it to the center of the rear rotors, just like the front system does.
The rear wing is J’s Racing’s Type 2, which is a dual element wing. The dual element means that there’s a smaller, second piece, which creates additional downforce, similar to how a Gurney flap does. There is a small gap between the two pieces, which relieves air pressure, thus reducing the amount of drag a solid Gurney flap may build. The wing is also braced to the trunk lid with an eye bolt and two stability rods to minimize lateral movement at high speeds.
