The Final Four’s first drivers would be Mike Essa and Odi Bakchis. Mike had pulled off a good run but Odi held the advantage. However, the Nexen would de-bead again and Odi, without another competition time out to use was eliminated. Mike Essa would battle for another chance at First Place after a stellar performance all weekend.
Chris Forsberg and Fredric Aasbo would face each other to see which step of the podium they would be fighting for. It started off great, with Aasbo leading into power alley but a mechanical failure sent Fredric into a half spin. Forsberg may have nearly hit him, but there was no contact between the two drivers to create the failure on Aasbo’s rear wheel. Unable to fix it with enough time, Forsberg would move on by default.
Aasbo would take Third Place, after Odi used his competition time out. Bakchis would have to settle for fourth leaving only the final of Mike Essa and Chris Forsberg to go. It was great driving by both drivers, but the judges had made a decision. As all three drivers, Aasbo, Forsberg, and Essa drove to the flag stand, Jarod Deanda had announced a winner was chosen.
That would be Chris Forsberg! With that win, he would jump into the points lead and Mike Essa would stay in Second Place. Daigo Saito would fall to third in points. However, it is only 2.75 points from Daigo to Forsberg and just .75 points between Essa and Saito. It isn’t over and is shaping up to be an even more exciting season than last year.
