As round progressed, battles got more heated and the separations in time got closer. The Street class matchup in final round of Kaayal and his ST vs. Lugod and his Miata proved to be a close one. A miscue by Lugod on a hot lap gave Kaayal the win by default. Not content to win on a technicality, Kaayal requested a re-run in an effort to win on merit instead of technicality. He did so, convincingly, and took home the win.
The StreetMod and newly formed StreetGT class were combined for this event. Hyunchul “Peter” Hong and his 240sx had spent the day laying down fast laps to take the overall class #1 seed. However, Kevin Burke and his prepped S2k was was able to upset Hong with two hot laps that couldn’t be touched, a testament to clean driving and a well sorted and reliable car.
A small field within the Trackmod category didn’t cheapen the competition among drivers. While the styling of JC’s WRX/STI screamed “TIME ATTACK!”, John Lazorack’s Mitsubishi Starion stole the day for the best looking car of the event. Blisteringly quick for a car that looks that good, all eyes were on the Trackmod Finals to see Japanese icons separated by generations battle it out for the top spot. cars from two show. Despite some very respectable times from John and his Starion, Meynet was able to capitalize and take the victory.

Awesome article!
Interesting, it’s just like the old Best Motoring Touge battles. As always, having a Tsuchiya as your driver is probably the best investment you can make.
