Bent flange bolts and exhaust leaks. A little carbon monoxide never hurt anyone. After the holes in the downpipe, this is nothing. |
The subframe has some grinding on it. Subframe bolts are ground to the point where they would be hard to remove and the subframe is pushed up about 1/4″ and dented all over. Whoops, hole in the windshield washer reservoir, who needs that anyway, thats tiite! |
The driver's side is worse. The subframe bolts are worn down to where it's gonna be really hard to wrench them off. With almost no bolt head, the bolts probably can't hold much. That's why there are more than one bolt, who needs them? The subframe is actually really dented in and pushed upward about 1/2″ or more on this side. No anti lift kit for this Subie! That's Dope! |
Awesome axle clearance. Actually automatic self clearancing axles. |
All 4 axles have some damage and are grinding their way into the chassis. BTW the car is at full droop and it has about the same clearance as a normal lowered Subie at ride height. |
One of the dangers of having coilovers that you can raise and lower the mounting ears is that you can make the car dangerously low. |
This was all shot with a cell phone cam. We didn't have time to shoot the less entertaining stuff like the worn through windshield washer bottle, the busted CV boots, bottomed CV joints and the hyper extended ball joints. The car is a suspension failure machine waiting to happen at any minute.
If your car is going to be set super low, be kind to society and take the time to engineer it to be safely low.
Why don't we like cars like this? We are haters. I guess we are just getting old.
