MotoIQ Radio: “Ballistic” BJ Baldwin on Huckfest, News on West Coast RC Raceway, and Charles Ng By Justin Banner and Kerryann De La Cruz
While he wasn't able to join us live from Huckfest, we will have “Ballistic” BJ Baldwin on this time to review Huckfest! Then, news came this week about the future of West Coast RC Raceway and it wasn't good. We'll have WCRC owner Danny Stojakovic to discuss what's going on and why it's closing down. Finally, Charles Ng will joining Kerryann and I to talk World Touring Car Championship racing and coming back to the USA. We will also cover how he went from Formula Drift to Touring Cars. Oh, and yes, that is right. Kerryann is back from her two week “workation.”
We start with one of the biggest names in Open Desert Racing, “Ballistic” BJ Baldwin. If you haven't heard the name, all you have to do is watch the video above to being to understand who BJ is. He went down to Pismo Beach for Huckfest at the Oceano Dunes this past weekend. How did he do? Find out tonight!
Some sad news to report out of the RC world as the famous West Coast RC Raceway closes it doors down. Will it be for good or will there be good news on the horizon? We'll talk with owner Danny Stojakovic to see what will happen to the home of the Reedy International Off Road Race of Champions.
It hits me in the gut as this was the first track I had tested Project Slasher and was looking to make this its home turf. I will now be on the lookout for another track to take it testing. WCRC was a great track and they had tamed it down since my last Slasher article but now with it closed all the testing I had done is out the window.
Finally, Charles Ng will join us to talk about his WTCC career to this point and what it was like to make the switch from Formula Drift to Touring Cars.
Actually, the transition from drift to grip probably wasn't as hard as it seems as that is where Charles got his start. We'll touch on that and on the rumors that he has moved back to the US permanently.
