Riley engines were either 4 or 6 cylinders of many different displacements but with a hemispherical combustion chamber, intake and exhaust valves angled 90 degrees, and dual overhead camshafts with short pushrods. Chrysler actually adopted an engine design from Healey back in the 1940s that started their “hemi” engines program. The Healey engine was really Riley built. |
