Royal Purple’s The Forum Wars Takes Trash Talkers to the Track

(Porter, TX) March 29, 2010 – Legions of car enthusiasts know there is nothing more exciting than getting on the track to show off their ride and their driving skills, with the ultimate prize at stake – bragging rights. High performance lubricant manufacturer Royal Purple knows the thrill of competition between car and driver, especially when it comes to pitting proud members of racing forums against each other.
“We thought it would be great to go beyond the smack talk between forums and see what happened when the talk was put to the test in real world racing,” said Royal Purple Motorsports Marketing Coordinator Patrick Burris. Ten track burning episodes of head-to-head competition can be seen on The Forum Wars presented by Royal Purple beginning April 5 on www.theforumwars.tv.
The Forum Wars was set into motion last fall with a call for participants posted on various automotive enthusiast forums. Selected cars had to be street legal, running DOT approved tires, and their drivers had to have previous track experience. Filming took place at the Irwindale Speedway in California on the facility’s road course and 1/8-mile drag strip.

- · 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback vs. 1969 Chevrolet Camaro
