TEIN EDFC ACTIVE Controller: Suspension tuning at its best

,

With the TEIN EDFC ACTIVE, it's like having the an infinite number of pre-set values, and none at the same time because I don't ever have to touch it. It's programmed to do what I want, and when I want it. Someday, I'll probably be contacting TEIN to upgrade to the EDFC ACTIVE PRO so I can further adjust the corners individually with a given amount of lateral G load. That will be oh so sweet! I'll have to hire Mike Kojima to come out to the track with me to get her all dialed in (what do you say, Mike!).

I've now had these shocks in the car since about 2004 and had them rebuilt in 2014 when the Supra went in for its motor rebuild. You can check out Mike Kojima's article on TEIN's shock service here.

While the shocks’ ride height are still manually adjusted, we have little doubt that, some day, TEIN will figure out how to be able to adjust this stuff on the fly.  I asked TEIN about this and they said there isn’t anything in the works yet.  We’ll see.
Check out this impressive video TEIN produced, showing you exactly how the TEIN EDFC ACTIVE system works in action!
TEIN also released this Japanese cartoon with English subtitles, showcasing the difference between a TEIN-tuned vehicle with EDFC against one that is TEIN-less. I could just leave it as my background music. It's simply great.
If you've been following Project MKIV Supra, we've done the motor, suspension (with TEIN of course), brakes, and interior. All that's left is something for the exterior. And look at what recently arrived from South America!
Thanks to MVP Motorsports in Texas, which is the master importer of TwinZ Design components for the Supra clientele, we got our box from Brasil after it spent several weeks in customs. Let the new-school-design hotness begin! We'll also be going back to our stock front bumper and original hood. Stay tuned.
