Billy Johnson to Compete in 2011 One Lap of America
ROUSH® Performance Entering New Production 2012 ROUSH Stage 3’s in the Ultimate Endurance Test
April 21, 2011 (Plymouth, MI): ROUSH Performance will be entering two of their 2012 ROUSH Stage 3™ Mustangs in the “2011 Tire Rack One Lap of America Presented by Motor Trend”. The RS3’s competing in the One Lap of America event will be straight out of the ROUSH factory and will be configured with options available to anyone who orders a 2012 ROUSH Stage 3 from their local ROUSH authorized Ford dealership. The One Lap 2012 RS3’s will be powered by an asphalt shredding 540hp ROUSHcharged™ 5.0L and will ride along on the ROUSH Competition 6-Piston Brake Package and ROUSH Competition Coil-over Suspension System.
The ROUSH Stage 3’s competing in the One Lap will be piloted by professional drivers Jack Roush, Jr. and Billy Johnson, both of whom are currently competing in the No.61 Roush Performance Ford Mustang in the Grand Am Series. “I can’t wait to get the new RS3 out on the road or even better, the track. I think the One Lap of America is a perfect event to showcase the new RS3 and its ability to be driven to a track, put through the paces, and driven back home. Billy and I are looking forward to personally proving out the 2012 ROUSH Stage 3’s drivability and performance capabilities.” said Jack Roush, Jr.
In addition to the official entries in the 2011 One Lap, ROUSH will be providing a new Stage 3 convertible as the official media vehicle for the week long event. The RS3 convertible will be utilized to follow the event and provide real-time updates about the One Lap event and ROUSH Performance vehicles as they navigate across the country…tearing up a few racetracks along the way.
