The Berk Technology BMW 135i has Hankook tires, KW Suspension, Performance Friction brakes and aerodynamics by Andrew Brilliant.  It is fully sorted after a year of being a winning Time Attack car.  Will the Berk team stay committed to the series?

Dai Yoshihara’s ride was built by Spoon Sport in Japan and imported for NASA’s  25 hours of Thunderhill.  Dai was supposed to drive for Spoon in that race and perhaps this was Spoon’s way of making it up to him.  Will Spoon stay committed to the series and continue to support Dai?  Dai is rumored to be preparing his Super Lap Battle Street Class winning 350Z for TO after it returns from Formula D in the Middle East.  However Dai’s duty as a factory driver for Falken’s drift team will not allow him to run a full schedule thus he will not be in contention for a championship in any case.  Since Mike Kojima is Dai’s Team Falken chassis engineer, he will not be running a full season either leaving Annie Sam as a top contender for the title.

If Annie Sam adds power and aero to her NX2000 she will be the person to beat in TU class.  Her driving skill was demonstrated as she more than held her own in a vastly underpowered car.

Robert Ramirez fought issues with severe and painful cramps in his legs and a mysterious missfire in his powerful TO Turbo eclipse.  The car is powered by a 4G63 and the chassis is proven and developed.  Annie Sam was able to harass Robert for part of the race.  With better luck Robert will be a contender.  Robert’s car is another example of the technical diversity that the MPTCC will foster.

Dai Yoshihara’s powerful Spoon K20A had it’s rev limit reduced to fit within the TU 12 to 1 power to weight ratio rule.  Dai won on the track and in the tech shed.  The car’s RHD configuration was also an advantage at Willow with its mostly right turns.

Mike Bonanni’s race was as easy as a Sunday drive in the desert which it was.

Robert Ramirez three wheels it around the Omega.

Charles Boyles lasted two laps before having an incident that triggered a full course yellow and brought out the pace car.  He looked fast while he was out there.  The S2000 may be the car for the class.

Brian Locke drove a fast and clean race, closing within striking distance of Bonanni but not being able to make a move.  Was the Berk driver playing with him?
