Where and when was your first competition?
My first competition was at Pikes Peak International Raceway in Fountain, Colorado.
How did you do in that?
I won!! (I was also the only entrant in class… but it still counts, right?)

What was your first “race” car?
In 2009, I spent the season autocrossing in a pretty well build M3. That car was the first time I had every really driven anything that was prepared. There's no denying I was hooked and begging for more. The first car that I did wheel to wheel racing in was a MINI Cooper S.

How old were you when you started racing? Just about 12.
Do/did you get flack from the guys you race against? Or have the guys always accepted you as a female in your series?
It depends on the event. When I entered into the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb the first time in 2010, I was really nervous about how the guys would accept me on the hill. I was overwhelmed with their support and kindness. I think that generally, guys who race are pretty okay with it. Of course, not everyone is always supportive, it can be someone's gender or age, and you just have to surround yourself with the people who are supportive.
Is there other racers in your series (you don't have to name, names) that you love beating?
I think it's always best when you can beat everyone. 😉 But yes, there definitely are.
Who does the work on your car? Usually the team.
