
The breather passage to the top end had some sludge build-up and varnish but nothing like that pan.

The oil pump and a big blobby build-up of sludge but was still working fine. The bypass valve was free and worked fine. One big glug of sludge might have changed that!

Surprisingly the main bearings were like new. You might think the acidic sludgy oil might have done them in but you could still see the flash zing run in plating on them.
