Fix Your BMW Power Mirrors For Cheap!

Remove all the torx screws, you will need to use a key wrench to reach the rearmost screw.

These torx screws are easier to get to as you have a straight shot at them.

Now the motor assembly can be removed from the mirror housing.

The motor can now be completely removed from the housing. Put the housing away to the side so it won’t get scratched up.

Next, remove the motor back plate.  These screws holding it down are also torx.

  1. Great article. I’m having problems with both sides on my M5 and thought I’d have to learn to live with it. The process looks a bit tedious but not difficult at all. Thanks for sharing a reasonable solution to the absurd replacement cost.
