Vaughn looked to finish off his great weekend with another podium run, but to do that he'd have to take on the Teal, Black, and White of Matt Powers. After a rough start to the weekend when his rig was involved in a crash on Thursday, Matt really pulled forward and didn't let that deter him. It could have also been the Happy Birthday song that Jarod DeAnda sung to him during Top 16 introductions.

Whatever it was, stopped on his follow run agains Gittin. Coming out of the last rear zone towards the first front clip, Matt spun along with Vaughn at the end. However, since hitting the clipping point on his lead run was considered a deduction, Gittin was judged the winner of this contest.

Matt Field, in his CXRacing/Maxxis Tires Nissan 240SX was really on a good run this weekend. If memory serves me correctly, I believe this is the furthest he's been in his short career as a Professional Drifter. However, Rhys Millen in the Hyundai/Hankook Tires Hyundai Genesis has been further and looked to get another podium in his record book.

With the Mojo of the Beard, Bil Baldwin cheering him on, Rhys did just that and was able to secure his spot in the Final Four.

You know, as much as I have pointed it out, you do have to give Ryan Kado and his Forged Performance/Nexen Tire team credit, the plumbing supplies worked and got him into the Great 8. You also have to consider that the only turbo intake manifold is hand made and tons of money, PVC Pipe doesn't look all that bad suddenly. However, all the power in the world just doesn't make up for experience of a vetern driver. With very little angle and a gap between him on his follow run, Ryan Kado would succumb to Ryan Tuerck.

The enemy of the current state, Conrad Grunewald would look to bring down another Turbo car. This time, it would be Ken Gushi in the Greddy/Hankook Scion FR-S. Ken has really shown that his previous tC was what was holding him back as he's had far better results in the FR-S. This time would be no exception as Conrad would spin in his lead run, giving Gushi the advantage to run away with. While he didn't run away from Conrad, he did move on as Ken keep a clean line towards the Final Four.
