Hooker Headers Prototype Nissan S Chassis LS Swap Headers and Motor Mounts

,

The Hooker headers feature large 1 7/8″ primaries with a 3″ collector to flow enough for bigger LS variants like the LS3 or even LS7.  They tuck up high as close to the floor as possible for good ground clearance and clear stock bellhousings and quick time scattershield bellhousings as well.

Matt reports to us that the headers fit really well in his S14 and that they felt like they made a pretty decent gain in power over the crate motor log manifolds although he didn't get dyno numbers.

At the inside of the flange, the welds are hand finished for good flow/
The Hooker headers have a collector that gives much of the advantages of a merged collector with some twists to reduce costs.  You can see here that the outside of the collector is made from a ram-formed piece while it still retains the venturi just past the merge that merged collectors use to keep velocity high to improve scavenging.
Inside the collector case you find this cast “spike” that brings the converging flow paths together smoothly.  Details like this in the collector help produce a wide powerband with good top end and lower mid range over a typical simple box collector.
