Mike Bonanni, Dai Yoshihara win MPTCC Round 3 at Cal Speedway!
By the end of the first lap, Dai got the lead back and checked out, never looking back and building up a huge cushion.  The old Dog Car has proven itself not to be obsolete and is still fast and developing.  Dai’s drift honed car control skills are also second to none!

MotoIQ editor Steve Rockwood in MotoIQ’s Project G20 Racecar proves that MotoIQ staffers can drive as well as build fast cars.  Rockwood was the only car able to mount a challenge to the Ho-Kojima charge fighting them off for three exciting laps.  Unfortunately Rockwood had the wrong tires on his car due to a last minute tire ordering screwup and his undersized tires gave up during the battle.  Kojima’s battle damaged Dog II was starting to give trouble in the form of relentless understeer, vibrations and erratic brakes at this point.

Pattarapong Note Haetanurak in the Buddy Club Honda Fit wins the award for the hardest to pronounce name.  The beautiful Fit is well built but is no match for the more powerful cars in the class.  We are sure the team will continue to develop the car.  Jackson Racing, here is a good car to sponsor with your Supercharger kit!  We hope you are reading this Oscar!

Robert Fuller in the Robispec RX-8 was fighting new car blues all weekend.  The car was actually being built in the pits in between practice runs.  Robert is a top suspension and chassis setup guru and we expect his new car blues to be over real quick.  We think this is the future car to watch in the class.

Scott Vanderheide, the boss of the powerful Fontana Nissan team, also fought new car blues with his turbo Nissan Sentra SE-R.  Powered by the iconic 54C GTI-R version of the SR20, this car will be super fast once the team sorts the teething issues.

The Fontana Nissan SE-R duked it out with the Robispec RX-8 until it was taken out by transmission overheating problems on lap 6.

Carl Rydqust’s Nissan 350Z is the kind of car we want to attract to the series.  Full suspension, aero, brakes and a turbo kitted engine. Rydqust also turned the fastest race lap.
