Cosworth was also displaying a bunch of EVO 4-9 4G63, EVO X 4B11T engine components, and their new line of low temp thermostats. Also on display were the EVO X stroker kit and the redesigned ultra strong EVO 4-9 stroker kit.
A lot of people actually would look at the parts from about two or three feet away until Kyong would tell them to come closer because the parts don’t bite. Then we’d get responses like, “I was just protecting my wallet.” or something like that. A lot of people believe Cosworth is expensive, but it really isn’t. Sure, they cost a little more to begin with, but you’ll end up saving money in the long run because you generally won’t need to buy things multiple times. Anyhow, to each his own.
Of course Road Race Engineering was also at MOD with cars and parts on display. They also supplied the Dynapack chassis dyno for the dyno passes.
Whenever Road Race ran the dyno, huge crowds would gather around the car. It probably wasn’t the safest thing in the world should a rod spit out the side of a block, but fortunately there were no such incidents. A couple of the cars sounded like they were right on the edge just to crank out a high dyno number. Since the Cosworth booth was close to the dyno, we would bet a dollar each on these edgy cars if it would blow or not. I lost a couple bucks, oh well.
The Sierra Sierra EVO did not make it to MOD this year. It is on a boat somewhere half way to Australia by now for the 2011 World Time Attack Challenge. Cross your fingers for team USA. Unfortunately the GST Motorsports Impreza L did not make it and Sierra Sierra will be the only team representing the USA. We’ve made a bunch of improvements to the car, but many of them have not been tested on track yet. We’ll have to test them out the day before at Eastern Creek Raceway. Look for a Sierra Sierra and 2011 WTAC update toward the end of this month.
At this point in time, my Camera ran out of memory card space. Apparently I filled up the 4GB card while my host and I were kicking ass through the mountains of Hong Kong 1.5 weeks ago in a Peugeot 306 (more on that later). I wasn’t about to delete that footage. And while going through pictures to delete, then my battery took a dump. So it was just poor planning on my part. Sorry if I left anything out that I should have included.
I was going to start jacking pictures from this site: Night Import, but then I figured it would be easier just to link it. If you’re into JDM’d out or hella flush EVOs, then check out their coverage. It’s pretty good.
Anyhow, a big thanks goes out to Mitsubishi for the T-shirts, In-n-out burgers, and of course for hosting a big event like MOD. I hope there’ll be many more to come.
