maserati twin turbo v6Here is another new bad boy 400hp, twin-turbo, V6 getting dropped into a Maserati. The 8-speed transmission is part of an AWD drivetrain. You can see the driveshaft going from the tranny to the front differential.
maserati twin turbo v6Yup, this engine uses an exhaust manifold with integrated turbine housing too. That’s a pretty nice looking manifold I might add. As is also common practice, the compressor bypass valve is integrated into the compressor housing.
maserati wastegate valveCheck out the wastegate valve. It has those two little tabs to prevent the valve from rotating. Check out the oil drain which can just be seen below the turbine housing; it has a flexible looking joint like the soda straws we used to play with all the time growing up (and maybe still). The flexible joint probably helps with vibrations and thermal expansions.
maserati twinturbo v6It appears the cams work on roller rockers to actuate the valves.
1.0l ecoboostYes, this 1.0L, 3-cylinder engine actually goes in a real car and not a clown car. The smallest Ford Ecoboost engine gets help from a turbo of course.
