ProAm Drifting Returns to Irwindale Speedway – The Drift League Round 1 Recap

Many competitors came out showcasing their sponsors in a great way. Here’s Eddie Zapata in his Feal Suspension sn95 Mustang during practice.

After a successful practice and qualifying session, the Top 16 drivers were announced. Here are the drivers lined up during the Top 16 Opening Ceremony. The judging follows FormulaDRIFT criteria with three judges looking at line, angle, and style.

The first battle in Top 16 was #1 qualifier Rome Charpentier versus #16 qualifier Jerald Hernandez. Battle of the BMWs! Rome ends up taking the win.

Another exciting battle in Top 16 was Mac Cruz in his 2J-powered RX-7 and Daniel Stuke in his 2J-powered s13. Stuke ends up taking the win.

Talk about sibling rivalry! I think this is the battle that everyone was waiting for. Branden Sorensen and his sister Amanda Sorensen end up paired against eachother in the Top 16 battles. After a smokey show, Amanda takes the win!
