You can also see how much thicker the new rotor is than the stock part. More swept area and more thermal mass means a lot more heat capacity
The stock rotor weighs in at 16 lbs, 11.1 oz.
The much larger Stoptech rotor weighs in at 15 lbs, 15.3 oz. Amazingly the much bigger Stoptech rotor is 4.2 oz lighter, probably due to the alloy parking brake drum saving so much weight, it more than makes up for the much larger than stock friction ring.
The new rear brakes look pretty mean!

Not being familiar with the factory GD STI rear caliper mounting, are there any concerns with the dust shield being strong enough to support the Stoptech caliper?
Not anymore than the stock caliper that bolts there!
