Project Mazda3 Part 3: Improving Our Contact Patch

,

The front spring install is classic MacPherson strut work.
The front springs from Racing Beat are wound from slightly thicker steel with less coils, for a 20 percent bump in spring rates and some ride height change.
We're replacing the upper strut mounts with camber plates from Corksport
The Corksport camber plate design utilizes the factory strut bearing piece, allowing for OE reliability and smooth operation.
While you can cut and slot your strut towers to allow maximum on-car adjustability of the Corksport camber plate, we figured that just setting them at the maximum negative camber from the get-go would make the most sense.
