2000-05 S2000 Catch Can
A simple fact of the modern internal combustion engine is that piston rings do not seal 100%. As a result of this, pressurized gases from the combustion process leak into the crankcase area of the engine. This is known as “blow by.” These crankcase gases have to be vented through the PCV system, which recycles the air back into the intake stream. The vented gases contain oil vapor that can coat the intake tract of the engine with oil and sludge.
An oil catch can is essential on a performance vehicle to protect the engine from elevated levels of crankcase blow-by accumulated from aggressive driving (learn more about the advantages of catch cans here).
RADIUM'S CATCH CAN DESIGN ADVANTAGES
Radium's catch cans use a closed-loop design that does not vent to atmosphere, making them emissions and track legal. This design routes clean, filtered air back into the engine, allowing it to be burned and promote negative crankcase pressure for optimal performance. This design also prevents unwanted oil vapors from entering into a vehicle's cabin.
Unlike many catch cans on the market, Radium Engineering's catch cans feature an integrated oil separator that accelerates oil condensation, cleaning PCV gases and reducing oil build-up on the inside of the intake tract and intake manifold. The stainless steel filtration media used to separate the oil is cleanable and re useable.
Radium's catch cans are machined from 6061 billet aluminum, vibratory deburred, anodized and laser engraved. They feature two-piece construction with a removable bottom that can be unscrewed and easily drained. All ports are O-ring sealed.
PERFECT FOR FORCED INDUCTION S2000s
If your S2000 engine is turbocharged or supercharged and oil accumulation is found in the intercooler, Radium Engineering's crankcase vent catch can is a necessity, as oil will lower the thermal efficiency properties of the heat exchange process. The crankcase vent catch can kit runs in-line with the 1/2″ valve cover breather port.
Radium's PCV catch can kit runs in-line with the 3/8″ PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve. Because Radium's catch cans are pressure sealed they can be connected to the intake manifold, and are great for boosted applications because they capture unwanted crankcase vapor, unspent fuel, and oil sludge from entering into the intake manifold immediately after a high load run.

Radium's Petcock Drain Kit (sold separately) allows for quick and easy drainage of its catch can kits. These drain kits include an anodized -4AN O-ring barbed fitting, nylon ¼” barb mini ball valve and 6 feet of high-temperature-rated 1/4″ rubber hose.
