Redline Time Attack Round 2 – Chuckwalla Valley Speedway

Chuckwalla Valley Speedway is located about three hours southeast of Los Angeles and is near Desert Center, CA. So, when people complain about Buttonwillow or Willow Springs being out “in the middle of nowhere,” they haven’t been to Chuckwalla yet. While that is a pretty big hit against the track that shouldn’t take anything away from the track itself. Not only is the track fast, it features elevation changes and tighter sections; for the track day enthusiast, that more than makes up for the lack of local attractions.

Chuckwalla is becoming more popular as word about the facility spreads. Among Time Attack drivers, it’s already a destination to look forward to each season. The number of drivers for Redline Time Attack’s Round 2, alone, was 53 on Saturday and 48 on Sunday that were in competition. The paddock was full of cars from Lotus Cup, the Alfa Drivers Club, and Extreme Speed. If the full attendance that day wasn’t over 100 cars, it was certainly very close to it.
