Modified FWD
Competing against himself and the only other Scion tC I have ever seen in Time Attack since Christian Rado, Efrain Flores takes Modified FWD with a time of 2:15.167. He can also hold his head high since he clocked a faster time than Unlimited AWD!
Unlimited AWD
With only two cars in Unlimited AWD class, the LAPD Beat the Heat Impreza clocked a time of 2:15.791. Second was the only other first generation Subaru Impreza of John Cox with a time of 2:18.223.
Unlimited RWD
Jay Laoharoj and his Nissan S14 240SX took Unlimited RWD's podium with a time of 2:06.383. It's nice to see S-chassis Nissans being used for more than just drifting, but with the “drift tax” of these cars, it will be a wonder if more will continue to show.
Roy Nararez and his Ariel Atom brought home second with a time of 2:11.533. The Ariel Atom is the quintessential track car and giving it aerodynamics really makes it look right at home on the track even if it is still technically street legal.
Going rough and raw, Quocviet Dang and his S13 240SX 'vert with Lambo' Doors takes the last spot with a 2:17.552. John Naderi will come to molest you later, Quocviet.
Super Session
With so many drivers in attendance, it also meant that there were enough cars with full, certified cages to do the first Super Session for 2014. The Super Session is a Redline Time Attack classic that features a three lap, wheel to wheel contest among the fastest cars in each class that is able to safely race. This round had 6 cars to compete, but with the fastest time overall, Will Wattanawongkiri took the lead from the start and never looked back.
The next event for Redline Time Attack will be at Auto Club Speedway on May 17th and 18th. Looking forward to seeing you guys at the fastest circuit in Redline Time Attack!
