OPTIMA Batteries Ultimate Street Car Qualifying series is the first national event series of its kind, putting street cars of every genre on famous tracks around the country in a televised series (OPTIMA Batteries Search for the Ultimate Street Car). Each participant will enjoy three days of heart-pounding automotive events in their street legal performance car and registration is officially open for the first two events of the year – Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (March 7-9) in beautiful Monterey, California and Texas Motor Speedway (Mach 21-13) in Fort Worth, Texas.
The events will also be nationally televised with the OPTIMA Batteries Search for the Ultimate Street Car thanks to a partnership with MAV TV. MAV TV will create a 13-episode series capturing all the action and take it into the homes of over 30 million people in the U.S. All entrants who participate in the weekend events will have an opportunity to be invited to Las Vegas and participate in the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational (OUSCI) – the crown jewel of street car competitions and the championship event for this series – after the world famous SEMA Show. OUSCI invitations will be awarded to car and driver pairings with the highest points accumulated for the weekend. Competitors will also have the opportunity to get an invite to OUSCI by capturing one of the coveted “Spirit of the Event” awards at each event. All events will utilize a tried and true competitive pentathlon which will include a road rally sponsored by Detroit Speed, Inc., an autocross sponsored by RideTech, a speed-stop challenge sponsored by Wilwood Disc Brakes, a fast-paced road course competition sponsored by BF Goodrich Tires and a design/engineering competition sponsored by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering.
OPTIMA Batteries has formed an alliance with the newly formed Ultimate Street Car Association (USCA) to prioritize safety and generate an exciting platform to have fun driving high performance street vehicles. The USCA will be the exclusive sanctioning body for “The OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Qualifying Series” and the “OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational”. The USCA was formed by ChumpCar World Series founder John Condren along with Jimi Day and Wally Olczak of FM3 Performance Marketing. USCA is open to everything from European cars, to sport compacts to pro-touring muscle cars and exotics. The events encourage participants of all levels with on-site education and instruction available for new and experienced drivers alike. From great social activities to camaraderie on the road, USCA strives to offer a valuable and memorable experience.
Entry into each event, including all five competitive pentathlon segments, will be $500 per entrant ($475 for USCA members). Other event offers include the $50 “Silver” entry, which gives car enthusiasts an opportunity to experience the USCA event as a spectator, enter their car in the Lingenfelter Design & Engineering Challenge and participate in a segment of the Detroit Speed, Inc. Road Rally. Pit passes are also available for $20/person at each event.
