The chassis has a 53/47 weight distribution which is unusual considering that the chassis is a mid engine design. The total race ready weight is 2620 lbs, a lot heavier than the svelte 1910 lb Millen PM580.

Tire warmers are used to bring the Falken Wildtrails to near operating temperature and pressure before the start.

This year, the Monster reigned supreme taking the overall win with a time of 10:11.07 over the balky, new car gremlin plagued RMR PM580.  Unfortunately the Monster did not break the vaunted 10 minute barrier or best Tajima San’s personal best time as expected due to the increased length of tarmac on the 2010 course vs. the 2009 one.  There was some controversy as the transponder fell off the car during its climb and the official time was one using a back up timing system.  Tajima San felt that he drove faster than ever before and his in car camera seemed to show a faster time but the officials upheld the time and we will never know if the 10 minute barrier really fell.Nobuhiro Tajima Suzuki Pikes Peak winning racecar

The Monster will be back in 2011 ready for vengeance and a chance to make history to be the first car faster than 10 minutes.  With a hopefully sorted RMR PM580 also looking to kill, the 2011 Pikes Peak Hillclimb is going to be one must see event.  We hope to be there.
