WORKS Releases First and Only CARB Compliant FR-S/BRZ Turbo Kits

WORKS has announced the official release of their 50-state smog legal, Calibrated/CARB Compliant Turbo Kits for 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016 model year Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ vehicles.

WORKS’ Turbo Kits are the first and only FR-S/BRZ turbo kits to obtain a CARB Executive Order.

Given the high percentage of FR-S/BRZ owners that desire more power, 50-state smog legal turbo kits are particularly relevant for those also concerned with keeping their vehicle road and smog legal.

Without the need for front bumper and oil pan removal, the WORKS Stage 1 Turbo Kit installs in less than one day and does not require any cutting or fabrication. Using a safe peak boost level of ~7 psi, owners can expect a power increase of ~35% over stock.

WORKS’ Stage 2 Turbo Kit makes use of an air-to-liquid aluminum intercooler with a front-mounted auxiliary radiator. This allows for a higher peak boost level of ~12 psi in which owners can expect a power increase of ~55% over stock.

The minimally intrusive design of both Stage 1 and Stage 2 allow them to retain the OEM airbox, PCV system, exhaust manifold, front pipe, and both catalytic converters. Both systems utilize a genuine Garrett GT28 turbocharger mounted rearward to maintain the 86 chassis’ balance and handling along with efficient short length intake piping to minimize turbo lag and pressure loss. All CARB compliant kits include a WORKS’ developed ECU calibration.
