There were a few runs that left a handful of drivers and spectators expecting “one more time” on some controversial runs. Unfortunately, OMT never came and some drivers had to end their nights. 2 of these drivers are Fredric Aasbo in the Japan Auto/FSR Supra, and Matt Powers in the Need For Speed/Nitto Tires Nissan S14. Aasbo went toe to toe against Vaughn Gitten Jr. in the mighty ASD/Monster/Falken Tire Mustang, with Jr. slightly outperforming him in style and speed. Powers was forced to run against Vaughn Gitten Jr. as well, with Jr. outperforming him and moving on to the next battle.
It was really cool to see these up and coming drivers from smaller teams run toe to toe with the top driver/car combination belonging to the most powerful team in Formula D. Fredric and Matt are insanely talented drivers, and we can’t wait to see what they will have coming up in 2011.
