2017 Formula Drift Pro2 – Road Atlanta

,

Brody Goble would turn on the smokescreen in his BG Motorsports S14.5, leading Austin Meeks and his Committed Service Brand Animal Cinema Talent S14 down the hill. Goble's lead not just down the hill, but all the way to the next round.

In somewhat of a true privateer's battle of sorts, Travis Reeder would go head-to-head with Hooman Rahimi. Unfortunately for Hooman, it seemed that even less (livery) was more, and Travis managed to score a win and advance to the next round.

The stage was now set for the final four.

Brody Goble's BG Motorsports S14.5 continued to lay down the smoke throughout the night. Matt Vankirk in the Fortune Auto / Driftmatic S13 would manage to see through it, though, chasing down Goble and earning the judges approval to advance in the process.

The final four is where people start to shine, or crack under pressure. Both Randall Waters with his IAS Performance 240SX and Travis Reeder would struggle to put solid runs together. In the end, Reeder would earn the win.

The final stage was set. A battle between Vankirk and Reeder would determine the overall Atlanta winner.

In what might be seen as an overall upset, Travis Reeder put Matt Vankirk away and took the event win.

In the end, the finishing order was:

  • #1 Travis Reeder (Q #11)
  • #2 Matt Vankirk (Q #8)
  • #3 Brody Goble (Q #5)
