38th Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach


The Pirelli World Challenge Long Beach Grand Prix presented by StopTech will be televised on NBC Sports at 3:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 29.  So if you plan to watch the race – STOP reading now..

Pole setter Randy Pobst and his K-PAX Racing Volvo S60 are always a fan favorite.  It's awesome to see a production based Volvo laying the smack down…and it sounds sooo good!


We now come to the final race of the weekend, the Pirelli World Challenge brought to you by StopTech.  With 34 cars qualifying, the 3rd round of the 2012 World Challenge season was sure to be an exciting one.  The Pirelli World Challenge race brings a little something different to the race fans as they have a standing start right in front of the main grand stands.  You have no idea what you're missing until you see it first hand.  Watching the AWD Volvo S60's launch is a thing of beauty.


The fellas at GMG had their much anticipated debut of the first World Challenge Audi R8 LMS.  They finished the race in 11th place, a smooth but uneventful debut.


Recognize the name?  That's Lou Gigliotti that used to drive the yellow corvette in Redline's Circuit Battles.

In GTS, Jack Baldwin in his Porsche Cayman S and Justin Bell in his Ford Mustang Boss 302S finished 1st and 2nd one lap ahead of the rest of the GTS field.  Check back with us for a full feature on Jack's Cayman S.


Andy Pilgrim was able to overtake Randy Pobst on the 9th lap of the race going into turn 1 and never looked back.  Randy would finish between both Pilgrim's and O'Connel's Cadillacs in the GT class.
