5 Trick Fixes for High Mileage Cars: Get Better Power, Fuel Economy and Engine Longevity

,

A spark plug job can be a simple, thirty to forty-five minute job on most cars.  However, with the MPV, while the front three plugs took only 5 minutes to get to, the entire intake manifold will have to be unbolted to reach the back three.  Given the hard-to-reach lines in the back, a first-timer should plan for around 2 hours on this swap.

The manifold doesn't have to be fully removed, but rather put to the side a few inches.  To do this, The air box and intake boot will have to be disconnected from the throttle body as well.

With the intake manifold positioned several inches to one side, access to the rear three spark plugs is greatly simplified.
