To me a mega trend in which we are behind is the functional or functional looking aero kit.  The JGTC GT cars are getting much more sophisticated aerodynamically and the JDM aero kit companies are also by emulating these cars.  Here a placard in the Ings +1 booth explains how some of their parts work.  Many kit companies like C-West, Voltex, Ings+1, Varis and Monster tune their aero kits in the wind tunnel and or on the track.  Thankfully the days of the Combat kits seem to be gone forever.

The fences on this FD's side skirt help stop air from curling under the car.An overall view of the fences.  JGTC cars have been sprouting these over the last two seasons.Kickups manage the air at the rear of the car to get a bit more downforce.
The Voltex splitter and canards on the Cyber EVO must help it stick, it is a really fast car.Canards provide downforce and make vortexes that travel down the sides of the car helping prevent air from curling under the car.Rear diffusers help shape the bottom of the car to reflect an upside down airplane wing to help increase downforce.  The vertical strakes generate vortexes to help make the diffusers more effective at lower speeds.

For you old guys, remember the legendary Wicked crew?  Ron Bergenholtz dusted off one of his old shirts for the occasion.

In the “You can't get it here” category, we took some snaps of these products that we haven't seen here yet, look for these parts soon or perhaps never!
