An End to an Era, Dai Yoshihara Retires from Formula Drift Pro Championship

After 18 years and 128 Formula Drift events, 2011 Formula Drift champion Dai Yoshihara has announced his retirement from Formula Drift. With 8 wins and 28 podiums, Dai has one of the winningest records in FD history and has competed in every single FD event to date.  Dai is retiring to be able to spend more time with his wife and two boys and to work on other business and driving opportunities.

We are proud to have been working with Dai for 12 of those years helping with engine and suspension development on his Nissan S13 and Subaru BRZ.

This news isn’t totally sad, Dai will continue to drive in other sorts of events like Time Attack, Pikes Peak, Road Racing, and other venues in the future and we will continue to support his future endeavors. We wish Dai good luck in the future and we will be there to support always.

  1. the red s13 was a fan favorite for quite a few years and its a testament to both Dai’s driving skill and kojima’s technical prowess how successful it was.
