Celebration of Motorsport

A tight pack of cars travelling at about 145 KPH (90 MPH) through Turn 2. This is a GT Sprint race with GT6 cars mixing it up in the corners with GT1 cars. The speed difference between these vehicles in both corners and the straights is extreme. Drivers must constantly be alert and the marshals have the blue flags ready!
In GT Sprints there are times when you'll see that three wide attempted pass. GT Sprint races are about twenty minutes long and there's usually two sprints in a day.
In this instance, it didn't work out but everyone continued on with their event.
The splitter caught the turf after a wild ride at what was likely close to 150 KPH (90 MPH) between Turn 2 and Turn 3. While the front was left naked, the car didn't touch the concrete wall and continued on with the race.
One of two trucks running this weekend, #9 Doug Phillips leads the way through Two. Doug has participated in my track events. He upgraded to this truck, a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, from a Camaro a couple of years ago. He's being closely followed by Robert Attrell in his 2010 Hyundai Genesis.
If you've read any of my previous writing, you know I like Nissan NXs. And Jeff is a great friend of mine, but with Blaise Csida right behind him in the #707 Camaro I could just tell a pass was going to happen. GT5 NX versus GT1 Camaro – there's simply no question! Doug's right in there and #10 is Bryce Lee in a 1986 Merkur XR4Ti.
