Rockwood's car was quickly determined to be a dead player with a shattered third gear.

With Dai’s DNF the chances that another team could win the TU championship became possible, with Team MotoIQ’s Martin Gonzales and Team APM’s Richard Ho both within striking distance.  If Dai DNF’ed again and if one of these two won, there would be a chance for them to win the championship.

Costa Gialamas and the GTI crew worked late into the night to repair the MotoIQ Sentra while Martin Gonzales withdrew as he and Rockwood determined that the transmission was beyond repair.  Next year, this car with a stronger tranny is going to be a major threat.

Qualifying resulted in the APD Acura on the pole and the Dog Car on the outside of the first row for the second showdown.  Damaged aero kept the Dog car from going faster on the oval.  Dai reported 200 rpm less revs due to additional drag.

The next day Dai Yoshihara sat out the morning practice runs while his car was being fixed, then made only three qualifying runs.  Satisfied that he had the pole, Dai returned to the pits, only to have the APD TSX go faster!

The Sunday race was a repeat of Saturday's with another extreme Yoshihara Smith duel .  Dai was making pass attempts at every other turn.  Exciting stuff!

This RSX proved to be fast but unreliable as it did not make the grid for either race.

At the start, Brian Smith took the APD TSX into the lead pursued hotly by Dai Yoshihara who pressured him for the next five laps.  Meanwhile Richard Ho and Randy Gibb were just behind in a spectacular 4 way battle for the lead.
