On lap 6 Yoshihara got around Smith in turn 6 and never looked back, checking out from the pack. Meanwhile the battle for second and third heated up as Smith, Ho and Gibb swapped paint. Ho passed Smith in the hairpin turn three off the oval in a ballsy move only to spin two laps later in the same turn, giving the position back to Smith.

With fading tires Ho gave it his all to hold off Gibb for third while Smith lapped in an uncontested second. Meanwhile Yoshihara in the MotoIQ Sentra was 21 seconds up the road in the lead. Amazingly all cars turned a fast lap within a second of each other.

| Smith and Ho battled fiercely behind Yoshihara but the tires and brakes of the APM RSX started to fade from the attack and Ho lost position in a heart stopping spin entering turn three. Fortunately he recovered to drive to 3rd giving second to Brian Smith and the APD team! |

With a diverse field of cars all exhibiting such close performance the MPTCC looks to be a very promising class. We will see you in 2012!
