DBA Brakes for Mustang S550
DBA USA just announced some exciting new products for the S550 Mustang. Their 5000 series front rotors are now available for the 2015+ Mustang GT with the Performance Package option. We will be testing them soon on Project S550 Mustang GT!
The 5000 series rotors feature their proprietary T3 precision CNC machined slots. These Tri-symmetrical curved slots help dampen vibration harmonics resulting in a quieter, more responsive and smoother brake feel. DBA rotors also feature their Kangaroo Paw ventilation system. This design helps to increase the surface area resulting in greater heat dissipation, ultimately providing less brake fade and prolonging service life for both pads and rotors. Being a two-piece rotor the outer rotor ring is replaceable and is made from XG150 high carbon alloyed iron. This allows for an increase in thermal capacity, which allows the rotor to handle extreme heat over longer periods of time while minimizing warping and cracking. To monitor braking temperatures DBA also incorporates heat paint markings into their rotors, allowing drivers to monitor rotor fatigue and aid in rotor replacement.
Along with the 5000 series rotors DBA offers a 4000 series that feature all of the same benefits of the 5000 in a one-piece design.

The SP500 is for drivers seeking improved braking performance without the compromises associated with an aggressive, track-style pad. This pad can operate at temperatures in excess of 500°C (900°F), whilst maintaining excellent stopping power and pedal feel. The SP500 features Copper Free Ceramic technology, which provides low-dust and low-noise operation and reduced environmental impact on our waterways and marine life.

The XP650 is ideal for applications where high temperature performance is required. This pad features a Kevlar metallic formula, and can comfortably operate at temperatures in excess of 650°C (1200°F), while maintaining excellent pedal feel. The XP650 is perfect for passenger cars being used in high-temperature applications (such as track day events).
