Radium Engineering's drop-in replacement Fuel Pump Hanger for the Scion FR-S, Toyota FT86 and Subaru BRZ is available now! It is the perfect fuel delivery upgrade for high horsepower applications that require additional fuel delivery from high-flow aftermarket fuel pumps while retaining the factory fuel tank.
Radium's FR-S/BRZ/FT86 Fuel Pump Hanger is a machined assembly that mounts in the factory fuel tank using the OEM ring and gaskets. This system allows for the use of either one or two Walbro 450 LPH fuel pumps (PN F90000267 or PN F90000274) that can be purchased from Radium Engineering and installed prior to delivery, or purchased and installed separately.
One -8AN male fitting for the feed port and one -6AN male fitting for the return port simplify the installation of aftermarket AN hose plumbing. An aftermarket adjustable fuel pressure regulator is required for use with Radium's FR-S/BRZ/86 Fuel Pump Hanger. This system eliminates the factory in-tank fuel pump filter, so an aftermarket in-line fuel filter is recommended. The function of the OEM fuel level sender is maintained.
Unique Venturi Jet Pump Design Ensures Fuel Flow Transfer
When fuel pump flow is increased, the OEM jet pump becomes too restrictive and creates unwanted backpressure in the fuel pressure regulator return line, which causes excessive fuel rail pressure. To eliminate this issue Radium Engineering developed its own unique venturi jet pump to ensure proper transfer from the passive side of the fuel tank to the active side where the fuel pump(s) reside without increasing system back pressure. Radium's venturi jet pump includes interchangeable orifices to match a wide variety of fuel pump flow rates.
Fuel Pump Collector Box
Radium Engineering's FR-S/BRZ/FT86 Fuel Pump Hanger includes a CNC-machined collector box that is specially contoured for the bottom of the OEM FR-S/BRZ/FT86 fuel tank and helps keep fuel trapped around the fuel pump(s). Two one-inch check valves serve as trap doors and help keeps the fuel pump(s) supplied with fuel in virtually all driving conditions. The collector box also receives all returning fuel from the pressure regulator return and the crossover hose through a one-way duckbill valve that prevents back flow and reduces noise.
For the ultimate protection from fuel starvation, the pump hanger can be combined with a Radium Engineering Fuel Surge Tank.
Optional Fuel Pump Wiring Kits for High Performance Pumps
Radium strongly recommends upgrading the fuel pump controller wiring when using its FR-S/BRZ/FT86 Fuel Pump Hanger, as the Walbro fuel pumps used in this application draw additional current that requires larger gauge wire. The company's Fuel Pump Wiring Kit ensures proper wire gauge for the pump(s) current draw, ensuring correct voltage at the pump(s) so they deliver maximum flow.
