Event Coverage: Supras in Vegas 2015
The event began in 2011 when founder Miguel Jimenez, gathered a mere 20 Supras representing 4 states and has grown each year since. In 2015, 190 Supras representing 20 States would gather in the Las Vegas desert to celebrate SIV’s 5th anniversary with 4 days of Vegas fun.
As the host hotel, Excalibur Hotel fenced off a special VIP parking area for all the attending Supras
Slowly the parking area filled up as attendees arrived from all over the country.
Supras in Vegas represents all generations of Supras, this is a great example, the red MK4 owned by San Diego’s Danny Aguirre and the white MK3 by his son Danny Jr.The event is usually held between the last week of September and beginning of October and runs 4 days, with a major outing each event day. SIV’s 5 year event title sponsors Driftmotion.com and FSR Motorsport Creations, help support not only the event but many of the cars leading up to and during each SIV gathering.
Many owners prep all year to get their Supras ready for the annual event, well known shops in the community assist with this, such as title sponsors FSR Motorsports and Driftmotion.com.Day one consisted of the Scenic drive, sponsored by Arizona’s Suprastore.com. It began at the Excalibur Hotel, VIP Supra parking area, out to Lake Mead and took over the upper parking lot of the Hoover Dam. Over 100 Supras participated in the drive of about 40 miles.
