We used a midpipe made by Protech Fabrication, a fabricator that makes a variety of super trick SE-R exhaust parts and specializes in turbo manifolds. They also make a 3” midpipe for the 20V manifold making it an easy bolt in. The 20V manifold has a ball and socket joint instead of a flex pipe to allow for and aft movement of the engine and the Protech mid pipe has the correct female flange for proper function of this part. The Protech mid pipe is made of ceramic coated mandrel bent steel.

For fabrication supplies for the rest of our big 3” system we turned to Vibrant Performance. When trying to fab up a stainless steel exhaust it is best to make the entire exhaust from stainless to avoid dissimilar metal corrosion between the stainless and other steel. | Vibrant is a godsend if you are making an all stainless exhaust. They have these handy ready to weld stainless flanges. When making a stainless exhaust, it is good not to mix the stainless with regular mild steel if you can help it. The mild steel will corrode first and much faster in a mixed metal system. It is hard to find the right flanges from regular sources but Vibrant has them on the shelf for you. |

| We got our U bends from Vibrant, they are high quality 304 stainless steel. Vibrant also has 90 degree bends and J bends, all stuff you need for exhaust fab work. |
We got an assortment of 3” mandrel bends, from U bends to J bends to begin our project. We used 304 stainless as it is rust resistant and if we are going to go through the trouble and expense to make a custom system, we feel that we might as well benefit from high quality materials. The only drawback to stainless is that is should be TIG welded which isn't really that big a deal.
