Inside Matt Field’s Drift Assassin Nissan S14

,

A Wilwood master cylinder is used for the drift brake.
The car's roll cage is made of mild DOM steel with a 0.095″ wall thickness and a 1.5″ diameter. We like that Matt's door bars extend further and higher into the Seibon fiberglass door that what is typical. The cage is attached to the car's unibody with dimple die plates in many places.

The dash is a fiberglass replica of the stock S14 dash.  Note that the transmission tunnel is fabricated, most S chassis teams build a larger tunnel to make removing the transmission easier. The red button on the roll cage door bar is the talk button for the radio.

Cobra Motorsport seats with head protectors are used with Takata 6 point harnesses.  The custom embroidery looks pretty cool!
An AIM MXL-2 dash handles the driver information and data logging duties.  The dash communicates with the Holley Dominator ECU.  The Holley ECU also controls the drive by wire throttle system.  Drive by wire throttles are pretty unusual in drift cars currently.
An ARC membrane switch panel controls all of the car's functions in one centralized place.  ARC's components are used for most of the car's wiring and power distribution systems.
A Long shifter controls the G-Force G101A side shifting external linkage transmission. The NASCAR and circle track 4 speed G-Force is dog shifted and bullet proof.

Power is sent to the transmission via an ACT 10.5″ Maxx XT twin disc clutch and lightweight CNC machined Prolite steel flywheel. The clutch has two 10.5″ in diameter discs each with 6 metal pucks. The ACT clutch handles the brutal abuse of over 1000 hp and the clutch kicking and slipping antics of drifting with no problem.  The clutch is rated for up to 1510 lb ft of torque!
