For the engine’s outsides a modified Jim Wolf Technology turbo kit is used with twin Garrett ball bearings GT2871 turbos sporting big .86 exhaust housings and internal wastegates. K&N fabricated the billet intake manifold in house. Turbo legend Corky Bell built the system’s twin intercoolers and K&N built all of the charge piping and exhaust piping in house integrating a Tial blow off valve. Of course a custom K&N air filter feeds the whole thing! A Ron Davis radiator keeps things cool.

For fueling an Aeromotive pump supplies fuel to an Aeromotive filter and regulator and RC Engineering 750cc injectors. An AEM EMS tuned by Mitch Peterson of MP Tuning controls the fuel, spark and turbo boost.

The drivetrain is pretty trick. A Tilton 5 inch triple metallic disc clutch with a super lightweight flywheel keeps the moment of inertia low for quick acceleration and fast shifts. The transmission choice is really unusual. The Nissan transmission has been scrapped for a Borg Warner T56 six speed transmission modified by Liberty Transmission using their Proshift modifications. Proshift removes the transmission’s syncros and replaces them with what looks like dog rings Thus you can have the fast shifting of a dog type transmission without the high cost associated with one. We are intrigued by this mod and will be investigating it further.
