Dimple die plates are welded to the A Pillars to tie the cage into the roof structure which improves stiffness.
 
Here is a view from the inside.
 
Look how tight the main hoop fits to the unibody.  The main hoop is stitch welded to the unibody along its length.  This greatly improves chassis stiffness.
 
Matt is protected by a nice halo of steel.  You can bet the chassis is good and stiff as well to help suspension tuning.

This is a cage the way a cage should be made.
