The nut and the hose are placed in the vice tool as shown. |
Then the rest of the fitting is tightened down on it. This pushes the cutter in the fitting into the hose and clamps the hose evenly around it’s outer perimeter. This gives a strong and reliable seal from the hose to the fitting itself. |
The hose end fitting installed and ready to go. |
At this time stuff like Earl’s Flame Guard is installed to the hose. The Flame Guard is an insulated silicone jacket that protects the hose from heat up to 500 degrees with flashes to 2000 degrees and abrasion. The ends of the Flame Guard are protected by high temperature Raychem shrink tubing. |
To help speed quick repairs common in pro drifting, quick release dry brakes are used on the brake lines. Earl’s Speed Flex line is used for brake systems. It is rated to 2000 psi and is teflon lined. |
Earl’s Speed Seal fittings are used for the brake system. Check out this bulkhead fitting. This is the proper way to route lines through the body. Notice the washer welded to the chassis to support the fitting? GTI attention to detail! |
