Mazda Motorsports Media Day

,

Sitting in the corner of the plaza was this 1st generation RX-7.  My dad used to have a 1st gen and it always put a smile on his face while driving it.

The Mazda MX-5 (also known as the Miata) in SCCA Pro Racing Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup road racing guise.  The corners of the front bumpers feed the brake ducts for the stock brakes.  Yup, stock brakes are used front and rear as they are surprisingly capable.  We, as in MotoIQ, took a MX-5 for some lapping sessions so keep your eyes peeled for that upcoming report.

Next to the MX-5 Cup car was this 'Super 25' concept.  It's fitted with big brakes, Volk Racing wheels, a hardtop, roll bar, and some rally lights.

Not many of us are millionaires, so the Mazda2 prepped to B-spec specifications can fill your wheel-to-wheel racing itch.

This Mazda2 saw a lot of action in the 25 Hours of Thunderhill piloted by some big names in racing: Ed Bergenholtz, Charles Espenlaub, Kenton Koch, Tom Long, Scott Shelton, and Tristan Vauter.
