MotoIQ RadioMotoIQ Radio: Chris Anderson of KMC Wheels and Earl Fannin of Motegi Racing

by Justin Banner and Kerryann De La Cruz

MotoIQ Radio goes “pro” thanks to Wheel Pros! First up is Chris Anderson who is the head of the off road wheels program and we'll talk about the domination of KMC Wheels at the Mint 400. Then we'll have Earl Fannin who works PR for Motegi Wheels. Not only did Motegi wheels score podium at the 12 Hours of Sebring, they also scored points at the Australian Grand Prix thanks to Sahara Force India cars finishing in P6 and P10. Have questions on their first Formula One points for this first time F1 car wheel manufacturer? Ask us in the comments or on Facebook!

The Mint 400 is legendary and getting a win here means more that prize money and championship points. There is no better wheel in off road than KMC Wheels as they have powered storied drivers like Bryce Menzies, Ricky Johnson, Cameron Steele, and even Travis Pastrana.

So, it should come as no surprise to hear that the winner of the Mint 400, Andy McMillian, was on KMC Wheels. We'll talk to Chris Anderson about Andy's win and about their overall weekend at the Mint.

It's not an easy thing, manufacturing a wheel. It takes research, planning, and quality materials to create something that will not only survive the grueling tests of endurance racing but the roads we travel on. Motegi brought out their GT wheel last year and at this year's 12 Hours of Sebring they capitalized on safety car and a well running Viper to capture the podium at Sebring.

Add to that as a new Formula 1 wheel make, it's difficult to make points. Well, in their first race Motegi did just that with both Sahara Force India cars finishing in points! I'll ask Earl Fannin what it's like to come off a highly sucessful weekend for Motegi Racing.
