This is not the current rear wing.  This picture of an APR wing was taken earlier in the season but its the only close up picture of the wing mounts that we have.  The mounts extend into the trunk to the chassis. The rear wing is now a Kognition part which is engineered using CFD to help optimize the design.

The large rear diffuser is designed to give downforce and manage the underbody airflow.

The chassis has an all inclusive roll cage for stiffness and driver protection.  A state of the art Racetech seat gives support and HANS compatible head protection.  Racetech harnesses are used as well.  A lightweight racing steering column holds a quick release OMP steering wheel.  The car uses 18×9.5 Rota Torque wheels wrapped in Hankook Ventus Z214 rubber.  The softer C91 compound is used for Time Attack sessions with the harder C51 compound being used for setup and testing.

This strong fabricated structure supports the front splitter.  A splitter can generate several hundred pounds of downforce which is why this structure has to be so sturdy.

This shows the side detail of the front splitter and canards.  These canards have a fairly shallow included angle so they are some help in creating downforce.  They also help produce side vortices that help prevent air from curling under the car which reduces the effectiveness of the rear diffuser.

GST built this flat bottom to smooth underbody air flow.  The panels are quick release for easy maintenance.

Aero is also a very critical for a time attack car.  A Kognition Design rear wing gives a bunch of rear downforce.  Kognition is one of the few purely functional engineered wings on the market.  GST also built the wide body, front splitter, canards and rear diffuser.

The side skirts help prevent air from curling under the car which can disrupt airflow to the rear diffuser. They also provide a working surface to make use of pressure differential to create more downforce.

Front fender venting reduces drag.  The fence on the side skirt helps make it more effective in preventing undercar side airflow and helps it trap air to make more downforce.

For the 2011 season, the car is being completely rebuilt with its most extensive overhaul to date. We are sure that GST Motosports will continue to be one of the leading contenders for the Redline Pro Time Attack series and one of the fastest Time Attack cars in the world. You can bet we will be there to report on the car's new tech features and will be following it on the Redline Circuit this season.
