Although slower than the other fast electric cars down the straights our car was still doing well enough to be one of the fastest cars in the run group.
One of the development goals was to provide a more aero stable platform to reduce roll and pitch sensitivity. Look at the car’s attitude in cornering. It looks like we were pretty successful.
In 2021 trim the car had a slight issue with understeer. This was completely eliminated for this year’s effort, even in low-speed turns. We ended up qualifying 4th right behind the Unplugged Performance Plaid which is what we expected.
The final day of practice, Thursday was the steep run from Glenn Cove to the Devils Playground. This is a steep climb with short straights going into hairpin turns and switchbacks. We expected the Unplugged Plaid to be really fast here.
